BAZINGA THE JUNGLE GIRL When I first saw her she was swingin’ through the trees In a tiger-skin bikini, way too hot to be beloved I dropped my elephant gun and I got weak in the knees And then when I looked up, yeah, she was smiling down at me Bazinga, the Jungle Girl Bazinga, the Jungle Girl I’m in love with Bazinga the Jungle Girl She’s got a real fine frame and that long red hair for days Says “Boo” to the lion and the lion runs away Out in the ruined temple she let me hold her hand Gave me a wreath of flowers and said, “Now you are my man” So I left the safari and we’re livin’ near the veldt I’m wearin’ jungle flowers and a big ol’ tiger pelt Her wild kind of lovin’ it just makes my hear melt And I have to admit that it’s the best I’ve ever felt Bazinga, the Jungle Girl Bazinga, the Jungle Girl I’m in love with Bazinga the Jungle Girl

WALK IN THE SUMMERTIME Well if you look out on the lawn, you can see what’s goin’ on And you can tell that it’s incredibly cool If you don’t think it’s too freaky I can put on my dashiki Like I’m back in 1972 Ah, a tisket and a tasket, let’s go grab the picnic basket We can fill it with our favorite beer And an orange and an apple, we don’t need a lot of crap I’ll just be happy if we get out of here I say, we can’t miss this day Take the phone off the hook now, let’s get away It’s all right, come on and step on into the light It’s just fine We’re goin’ for a walk in the summertime When we’re out among the grasses, gonna polish up my glasses Got to see everything there is to see If you want to get your high on out among the dandelions Well, I tell you, you can do it for free And when you slip of your bikini, I can tell you’re glad to see me And we know this is the right time and place Flower pedals from the trees fall to cover you and me As our heads begin to spin into space It’s all right, come on and step on into the light It’s just fine We’re goin’ for a walk in the summertime Tomorrow I might have to work, tomorrow it might rain I might turn on the TV and have some bad news blow my brain Some people measure life with time, and measure time with words But me I just wanna go outside and listen to the birds It’s all right, come on and step on into the light It’s just fine We’re goin’ for a walk in the summertime

Time Is Nigh 04:46
TIME IS NIGH You say it’s too much to feel Can’t believe that the truth is real Man in black sittin’ at the front door Puts a pall on the party and that’s for sure “Just don’t let him in” Says the Corporate Clown He did the bebop shuffle and he spun around Well, I can’t shut the door in the Reaper’s face ‘Cause the fact of the matter is he owns the place Dead certain that the time is nigh As we point our fingers at the deadly sky Well I swear by the sweat pourin’ down my back That the Earth’s warming up for the final act Dead certain that the time is nigh But I hope like hell we don’t have to die Lookin’ at you makes my temperature rise If I get any hotter gonna catch on fire Yeah, the bar could use a few repairs As the jukebox melts with the plastic chairs “Let’s party all night!!” Says Bullethead Jones “Before the heat of the morning gonna cook our bones” Dead certain that the time is nigh As we point our fingers at the deadly sky Well I swear by the sweat pourin’ down my back That the Earth’s warming up for the final act Dead certain that the time is nigh But I hope like hell we don’t have to die Lookin’ at you makes my temperature rise If I get any hotter gonna catch on fire

Spidertown 03:49
SPIDERTOWN Underneath the overpass the Werewolf Children wait Drawing patterns in the dust to help to seal my fate Down beside the riverbank you hear a gurgling gasp Somebody’s gone missing, but it’s better not to ask Young Lucrecia Borgia dressed like a gothic ghost Comes and sits beside me ‘midst the statues of the lost “Drink up,” She says, as she pours something in my beer “Once you’re in, you’re in, and no one ever quite leaves here” Drop me off in Spidertown Drop me off in Spidertown Ashes, ashes, all fall down Drop me off in Spidertown I stand outside the campfire circle, hidden in the dark Watching as the Cannibals all party in the park Underneath the overpass, the pattern is complete Once you’re in, you’re in, and no one ever really leaves Drop me off in Spidertown

CHASE THAT CHICKEN You say you're lookin' for something to do I've got something just for you Tired of livin' out on the farm You say that the country has lost it's charm Here's a thing that'll change your mind Leave that old ennui behind You might think it's a little strange But hear me out till I've had my say Chase That Chicken Feathers flyin' everywhere Chickens flyin' through the air Try it once and you will see Get a taste for fine poultry Chasing chickens gives a boost Better than the books of Marcel Proust You might even surprise yourself And get like Gonzo and The Swedish Chef Chase That Chicken Chase that chicken all around Chase it till you get downtown Chase the one that you like best Buy that one a party dress Take that chicken to a movie show No one else is gonna have to know Chickens, yeah, they're gonna blow your mind And you'll have to shift your paradigm Chase That Chicken

FULL DAYLIGHT Centaurs and sailing ships are floating through my empty head As through the starlit skies I navigate my sleeping bed From a slender silver chain, the full moon hangs in front of me I’ll reel it in again, and bring it home for you to see Then I’m awakened and it’s full daylight Let me tell you ‘bout my dream last night Here’s a secret and it’s strange but true Every dream I have is all about you The silver birches sing and sway as I negotiate my way A swimmer in the upper atmosphere And as I reach the Northern Lights, the curtains part for me tonight And as I enter in I feel you near Then I’m awakened and it’s full daylight Let me tell you ‘bout my dream last night Here’s a secret and it’s strange but true Every dream I have is all about you
7.
BITEY BITEY BITE I’ve got a serious problem And I’ll admit that I do Of highly improper behavior And It all revolves around you ‘Cause every time you come in sight You’re the one I want to bitey bitey bite Please don’t take this the wrong way Don’t want you to be alarmed ‘Cause though I might get a bit crazy I’ll never ever do you harm Still, every time you come in sight You’re the one I want to bitey bitey bite Bite bite bitey bight; bitey bite Oh you looked good enough to eat And what do you know, I’m right! It’s an inclination that’s impossible to fight Bitey bitey bitey bite! If you were a traveling missionary girl And I was a cannibal king I’d tell you what I said just now I’d say the same darn thing Every time you come in sight You’re the one I want to bitey bitey bite!

GET ME OFF THIS SHIP All that I remember is waking up on deck In this sailor’s uniform, but why Had a premonition we were headed for a wreck Underneath the stormy midnight sky Up above the clouds, you could see the purple moon And below, the dark and angry sea All the strange pale shipmates that I met there in the gloom None of them would even talk to me Get me off this ship and get me back onto dry land How I got on board tonight I just don’t understand You know I had a dream that we went down here with all hands Get me off this ship and get me back onto dry land High up in the wheelhouse, the captain had gone mad As I stood with him in sudden dread Gesturing into the night, he laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed Something huge and dark loomed up ahead Get me off this ship and get me back onto dry land How I got on board tonight I just don’t understand You know I had a dream that we went down here with all hands Get me off this ship and get me back onto dry land

THE FIRST THING I REMEMBERED I was there when the lights went out And I stumbled ‘round for a while Fell into a pool of something warm And I flattened out like a tile I don’t really think I worried ‘Bout the things I left behind But the first thing I remembered Was the last thing on my mind Flew out over your house last night Like a mist blown ‘round by the wind Saw your window was open And I floated myself on in If you thought you were dreamin’ about me your dreams came true this time And the first thing I remembered Was the last thing on my mind I’m gonna go to the center of the earth Where the horrible fish all go I’m gonna do the things they do And know the things they know In the times before it was such a bore In the times before I was blind And the first thing I remembered Was the last thing on my mind

IF I CAN’T HOLD ON I broke my back out on the rocks this morning Been out here thinking now it’s afternoon We’ve got a train to catch and But I don’t think that I can write that tune I’ve tried and tried, and you know I’m still trying You always said I was a trying man But you’re so strong and I feel oh so weak now I don’t know if I can fight the plan If I can’t hold on, will you understand Could you take the torch from my fallen hand If I come apart as I fear I may Just know in your heart, I tried my best today If I can’t hold on and I just get lost If the Flying Monkeys come and drag me off If I lose my grip and it all goes wrong Would you please forgive if I can’t hold on

THE WORLD OUTSIDE You can try to run, but you just can’t hide I’m not the one to pour the milk in your eyes You wanna know what’s going on Can’t keep control when the controls are gone Gotta take it easy, gotta take a deep breath ‘Cause it’s not about fear, and it’s not about death All of us together, we’re just here for the ride Cleaning up our feathers for the world outside Yeah, everybody gets a little worried sometimes But honey don’t panic, ‘cause it’s gonna be fine We step through that door and we’re all gonna fly High up in the sunshine of the world outside You fear your dreams, and you dream your fears So much confusion, and so many tears Hard to hold onto things that won’t last Hard to get to the future when you’re trapped in the past You were given faulty information About what was real and true That’s why you’re stuck here at the station I know I’d feel the same if I were you Gotta take it easy, gotta take a deep breath ‘Cause it’s not about fear, and it’s not about death All of us together, we’re just here for the ride Cleaning up our feathers for the world outside Yeah, everybody gets a little worried sometimes But honey don’t panic, ‘cause it’s gonna be fine We step through that door and we’re all gonna fly High up in the sunshine of the world outside

about

This is an album that I actually finished in 2011. I was planning on getting it mastered and released, and then a series of family crises totally distracted my attention to the degree that I forgot all about these tracks. My friend and Mastering Engineer Chris Goosman was able to retrieve them, and brush off the dust and cobwebs, and I think they sound pretty darn good!! At this point I was starting to enjoy creative mixing and loop manipulation to enhance the arrangements, and the recordings reflect that. I enjoy these songs, especially since they've reappeared after so long!!! I think I'll give this one away free right now, and I hope you enjoy it. If you want to toss a few coins in my guitar case, well, thank you kindly then.

about

Beowulf Kingsley Grass Lake Charter Township, Michigan

Todd was here before. Perhaps you recognize him from back then. He looked different then, though. If you think he owes you any money, he was probably some other guy. Those other guys are gone now. We think they may be in Guam, or possibly Kansas.
